Aeroplanes and other aircraft have three bands. Code 880220 is for 2000kg or less.
Space goods sit in this heading too. Spacecraft, satellites and launch vehicles, including suborbital ones, go under 880260. Heading 8802 never takes unmanned aircraft. Those belong to 8806.
Drone HS codes: heading 8806 unmanned aircraft
A drone is an unmanned aircraft, so it goes under heading 8806. This is the main difference between 8802 and 8806. Heading 8802 is for aircraft that are not unmanned.
Heading 8806 has one code for unmanned aircraft that carry passengers: 880610. All other codes are for aircraft that do not carry passengers. They split in two ways.
First, by control. One group is for remote-controlled flight only. The other group is for flight that is not remote-controlled.
Both groups use the same bands: 250g or less, over 250g up to 7kg, over 7kg up to 25kg, over 25kg up to 150kg, and over 150kg. Weigh the drone at its maximum take-off weight, then match the band.
HS code for aircraft parts: heading 8807
Many people look for a separate parts heading. That makes it the heading for aircraft parts.
There are four codes. Code 880710 is for propellers and rotors and their parts. Code 880720 is for under-carriages and their parts. Code 880790 is for parts that fit nowhere else in chapter 88.
Two kinds of parts have their own homes. Parts of parachutes stay in 8804. Parts of ground flying trainers stay in 8805, for example under 880400 for parachute items.
