HS Code 7013Glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, toilet, office, indoor decoration or similar purposes (other than of heading no. 7010 or 7018)

10 six-digit codes · Heading 12 of 19 in Chapter 70 · World Customs Organization Harmonized System

HS code 7013 is the customs heading for everyday glassware, such as drinking glasses, stemware and glass dishes for the table or kitchen. This page explains what fits, how to choose the right subheading and what belongs elsewhere.

Heading 7013 is finely cut: 10 six-digit codes, 701310 to 701399, all of them under “Glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, toilet, office, indoor decoration or similar purposes (other than of heading no. 7010 or 7018)”. At that depth it is the exact wording of the code, not of the heading, that settles a classification. The heading is number 12 of 19 in Chapter 70, Glass and glassware, which runs to 71 six-digit codes in all.

What HS code 7013 covers

Think of drinking glasses, stemware, serving ware and other glass pieces that people use or display in a room. It sits in Section XIII, inside Chapter 70, which deals with glass and glassware.

You may see this heading searched as HSN 7013 or HTS 7013. These are the same heading under different names.

The heading ends with the words "other than of heading no. 7010 or 7018". That means 7013 is for finished glassware that is not a packing container and not a small ornament. If your product fits one of those two headings, it goes there instead.

How to choose the right 7013 subheading

Start with the material, then the type of item, then its use. The exact wording of the six-digit code decides the answer, so read each line closely before you pick one.

  • Made of glass-ceramics? Use 701310.
  • Drinking glass with a stem (stemware)? Use 701328 if it is not.
  • Drinking glass without a stem?
  • Use 701341 for lead crystal.
  • Heat-resistant kitchen glassware, often sold as borosilicate? Use 701342, but only if the glass meets the low expansion limit written in the code.
  • Use 701349.
  • Anything else in the heading, such as toilet, office or decorative glassware? Use 701391 for lead crystal and 701399 for other glass.

What is not classified in 7013

Heading 7013 has clear limits. Several neighbouring headings take goods that look similar at first glance.

So do glass stoppers and lids. A drinking glass is made to drink from. A jar is made to hold and ship a product. That difference in purpose is the test.

Glass beads, imitation pearls, statuettes and other ornaments of worked glass belong in 7018. If a piece is only there to be looked at, check 7018 before you use the decorative glassware code 701399.

Laboratory, hygienic and pharmaceutical glassware belongs in 7017, even when it looks like a kitchen jug or beaker. Glass mirrors go to 7009. Glass articles that fit nowhere else in the chapter go to 7020.

If you are still unsure, run the product description through the HS code classifier.
